Now I can clearly understand what motivates the choice of Postel Service
Award Laureates.

On October 16, 1998, Jon Postel died at the age of 55. The impact of the
technical and organizational improvements he made to the Internet during his
all too brief life is immeasurable.

The Postel service award is named for Dr. Jonathan B. Postel to recognize
