Dear Colleagues,
 
In September / October 2012, after
discussion on the theme for the AFRALO-AfrICANN joint meeting in Toronto, we
had agreed to focus on  “the creation
of a development Fund” initiated by ICANN, to support the developing
countries’ active participation in the whole ICANN process and to facilitate
their integration in the Internet domain industry.

We had to postpone the AFRALO-AfrICANN
joint meeting in Toronto as the Africa Strategy Working Group (ASWG) had
planned a meeting for the same audience and the same day.
 
“The
creation of a development Fund for Africa” is a still a concern for Africa and AFRALO is pleased to announce to the African
community that the AFRALO-AfrICANN joint meeting in Beijing will be held on the
same theme.

AFRALO is looking for volunteers to participate in
the drafting committee of the statement. Please let us know if you want to be a member of the
drafting committee as soon as possible, and not later than 10 March 2013.

En Septembre /
Octobre 2012, après discussion sur le thème de la réunion conjointe
AFRALO-AfrICANN de Toronto, nous avions retenu comme sujet « La création
d’un fond de développement » initié par ICANN, pour appuyer la
participation active des pays en développementdans le processus global d’ICANN et faciliter leur intégration dans l’industrie
de  domaine internet.

Nous avions du
reporter la réunion conjointe AFRALO-AfrICANN, étant donné que le Groupe de
Travail sur la Stratégie Africaine avait planifié une réunion pour la même
audience et le même jour. 


« La création
d’un fond de développement pour l’Afrique»,  est toujours une problématique pour l’Afrique
et c’est avec plaisir qu’AFRALO  annonce
a la communauté africaine que la réunion conjointe AFRALO-AfrICANN à Beijing
sera tenue sur le même thème. 


AFRALO cherche des
volontaires pour mettre en place un comité de rédaction de la déclaration.

Nous vous prions de
nous faire savoir si vous voulez être membre du comité de rédaction, le plus tôt
possible et au plus tard le 10 mars 2013.
