Just a note; I don't think the last update of whois database field be
updated by an individual. It should be an automated field.
As at the last time I checked; the database does not perform any form of
integrity check on the date supplied (i.e whether it's past or present or
future). It just accepts any date!

PS: This was tried against the AFRINIC whois database (my observation may
not apply generally)
