Hello -
We have been hard at work on a new Internet Society initiative to
provide real-world IPv6 and DNSSEC deployment information (with more
topics to come). Under development as a project of the Deployment &
Operationalization Hub (DO Hub), the name Deploy360 was selected from
a range of well-researched and creative options for its clarity,
memorability, and Web and social media availability.
We are very excited to officially launch the Internet Society
Deploy360 Programme this week, and want to give you a sneak peak. The
Programme website is at http://www.internetsociety.org/deploy360. URLs
we have used in the past to discuss this initiative, like
http://www.isoc.org/do, will redirect to this new URL.
Deploy360 serves as a go-to information source to assist network
operators, developers, content providers, consumer electronics
manufacturers, and enterprise customers with the implementation of new
Internet technologies and standards. Components of the new Deploy360
programme include:
* A growing web portal with technical resources and articles, best
practices, case studies, and deployment information
* Four ION Conferences each year to bring together network operators
and leading industry experts
* Social media interactions to encourage year-round deployment discussions
* Speaking engagements at technical industry conferences and events
around the globe
Many Chapter members are among the first adopters of new technologies
and may want to help us provide deployment information via Deploy360.
In addition, the collected resources will be valuable to Chapter
members actively seeking to deploy new technologies. Deploy360 events
will also provide an avenue for Chapter members to meet their
colleagues in person.
We intend to grow Deploy360 content rapidly. We are establishing a
resource review panel to help curate the content we feature and
engaging technology experts to create deployment-related content to
fill information gaps.
We will publish a news release announcing the programme tomorrow. Next
week, we will be active at the Consumer Electronics Show to debut
Deploy360 and give a tutorial on IPv6 to consumer electronics vendors.
We are still polishing the site and adding content, and will continue
to add new content regularly. We welcome your comments and questions
as we get going. You can email us at deploy360 at isoc.org, or contact us
on one of the numerous social media networks where we are / will be
active:
