*Conference on Accelerating reform in Africa:** mobilising investment in
infrastructure and agriculture*

*26-27 April 2011
Dakar, Senegal*

This conference, hosted by the Government of Senegal, will explore ways to
increase investment in Africa – especially in the areas of infrastructure
and agriculture – and to stimulate green growth.**

*More than 200 participants*, including high-level policy makers, private
sector representatives, development partners and technical experts, are
expected to attend and share their views and experiences on how to *accelerate
investment climate* *reform *in Africa.

Discussions on *infrastructure *will focus on regulatory challenges for
increased investment, innovative financing mechanisms and risk mitigation
tools.

The conference will also address ways of attracting more and better
*agricultural
investment *at both country and regional levels.

A joint session with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will
cover how to mobilize *green investment* for employment and economic growth.

Several side events will be held alongside the meeting, including the launch
of the *Aid for Investment in Infrastructure project*.

Cette conférence, accueillie par le gouvernement du Sénégal, vise à
déterminer des moyens d'accroître l’investissement en Afrique – en
particulier dans les secteurs des infrastructures et de l’agriculture – et
de stimuler la croissance verte.

*Plus de 200 participants*, y compris des personnalités politiques,
représentants du secteur privé, partenaires au développement et experts
techniques, sont attendus pour prendre part aux discussions dont l’objectif
est de donner un *nouvel élan à la réforme du climat des affaires *en
Afrique.

Le débat portera, en matière d’*infrastructures*, sur les enjeux
réglementaires de l’accroissement des investissements, les financements
innovants et les instruments de gestion des risques.

La réunion évoquera également les moyens d'augmenter les volumes et la
qualité de *l’investissement agricole* et fournira l’opportunité d’un
échange d’expériences menées aux niveaux national et régional.

Le sujet de *l’investissement vert* comme gisement d’emploi et de croissance
fera également l’objet d’une session impliquant le Programme des
Nations-Unies pour l’Environnement (PNUE).

Plusieurs évènements seront organisés en marge de la conférence, en
particulier le lancement du projet sur *l’Aide en faveur de l’investissement
* dans les infrastructures.
