Victor NDONNANG

 <http://www.icann.org/en/minutes/resolutions-18mar11-en.htm> Board Sets New
gTLDs Timeline; Approves .XXX Domain

ICANN's Silicon Valley meeting, held at the Westin St. Francis in San
Francisco, concluded 18 March with the public meeting of its Board of
Directors.

The ICANN community handled a wide array of Internet policy issues,
including:

• ICANN's next public meeting will be held in Singapore, June 2011.
• The Board intends to complete the process for final approval of the New
gTLD implementation program at an extraordinary meeting of the ICANN Board
to be held on Monday, 20 June 2011, at the ICANN public meeting in
Singapore.
• The Board endorsed all 27 of the recommendations made by the
Accountability and Transparency Review Team, and requested ICANN Staff to
prepare implementation plans.
• The period for accepting public comments about the process for creating
new GNSO constituencies was extended.
• The Board supported entering into a Registry Agreement with ICM,
approving .XXX as a new top-level domain.
