[AfrICANN-discuss] Request for Comments - IANA Functions

Dear all,

This is to inform you that the US Dept. of Commerce has issued a request for 
comments on the matter of the IANA functions presently carried out by ICANN 
under contract with them.  You can find the announcement here:

Please take time to review the request for comments, and send in your comments 
before the deadline for submitting comments which is Mar. 31.  As you can 
imagine, this is a very important matter as it goes to the heart of the 
management of the domain name system, and ICANN's contract will end this 
September.
