Is it possible to have the French version that I have in the days following
it online for local players in Congo Kinshasa and Central Africa. Is a very
important document.
I can do the French translation of the document but I had like that if you
have the French version, send it to me.

Dear all,

As you know, AFRALO launched the idea of a joint meeting with all the
African ICANN community (AfrICANN) to develop a statement expressing the
expectations of the entire African community from the resolution 20 of the
ICANN Board about providing support to applicants in need of assistance to
apply for and to operate the new gTLDs.

A drafting team has developed, after several weeks of work, a draft
statement that it submitted to the joint meeting held in Brussels on
Tuesday, June 22, 2010. The room was full and some was standing. After
discussion and review, the draft statement was approved.

Our statement was sent to the working group formed as per the Board
Resolution 20 to seek ways of providing support to applicants for new gTLDs
who need assistance. We asked them to consider its content in their future
work. They immediately put it on their wiki page, and I received the
official support (in writing) of one of the WG members.

It was also sent to the Board, and I got the confirmation that it was
transmitted to all members.

Cheryl, the president of ALAC, in her report to the Board, gave a prominent
place to our meeting and our declaration that she, by the way, annexed to
her report. We received Congratulations and compliments from all sides.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this success. I hope we will
continue to work together for the interest of the Africans community of
Internet.

Comme vous le savez, AFRALO avait lancé l’idée de faire une réunion commune
avec toute la communauté Africaine active à ICANN (AfrICANN) pour élaborer
une déclaration exprimant les attentes de notre communauté Africaine de la
résolution 20 du Board ICANN concernant le soutien à apporter aux candidats
qui ont besoin d’assistance pour faire la demande à un nouveau gTLD et pour
l’exploiter.

Une équipe de rédaction a préparé au bout de plusieurs semaines de travail
un projet qu’elle avait soumis à la réunion conjointe tenue à Bruxelles le
Mardi 22 Juin 2010. La salle était pleine et certains sont restés debout.
Après discussion et modification, le projet de déclaration a été approuvé.

Notre déclaration a été envoyée au groupe de travail formé au vu de la
résolution 20 du Board pour imaginer les moyens d’apporter le soutien aux
candidats aux nouveaux gTLD qui en ont besoin. Nous leur avons demandé d’en
tenir compte dans leurs travaux futurs. Ils l’ont tout de suite mis sur leur
page wiki, et j’ai reçu le soutien officiel (par écrit) de l’un des membres.

Elle a été également envoyée au Board, et j’ai la confirmation qu’elle a été
transmise à tous ses membres.

Cheryl, la présidente d’ALAC, dans son rapport au Board, a donné une place
de choix à notre réunion et notre déclaration qu’elle a d’ailleurs annexée à
son rapport. Les félicitations et les compliments nous sont venus de tout
bord.      

Merci à toutes les personnes qui ont contribué à ce succès. J’espère que
nous continuerons à travailler ensemble dans l’intérêt de la communauté
Africaine de l’Internet.
