*PRESIDENT, NIGERIA INTERNET REGISTRATION ASSOCIATION (NiRA)*

It is with great shock and pain but with total submission to the will of
Almighty God, that we formally announce the sudden passing away of Engr.
Ndukwe Kalu, pioneer President of Nigeria Internet Registration Association
(NiRA).

Engr. Kalu Ndukwe was an embodiment of intellect, diligent, hardwork and a
great patriot, who deployed so much time and energy to the formation and
growth of NiRA.  The internet community in Nigeria has indeed lost a gem and
a pillar.

The Association has decided to contribute its quota to ensuring a befitting
burial and establish an Endowment Fund in honour of the late President.  The
Endowment Fund would be used for the training, research and development of
deserving ICT students and professionals – a cause that was very dear to
late Engr. Kalu.

 The family has fixed October 31, 2009 as the date of burial and this would
be preceded by the following activities in his honour by the ICT Industry
and Internet Community.

 ·         October 20, 2009                    -           Commendation
Service in Abuja

·         October 22, 2009                    -           Commendation
Service in Lagos

·         October 31, 2009                    -           Interment at
Abriba, Abia State

 The Association would like to encourage both individuals and corporate
bodies, who are desirous of making contributions to the burial arrangement
and the Endowment Fund to do so.

 We kindly request that all financial contributions should be paid to
the *Nigeria
Internet Registration Association Account Numbers, 001400100014529 (Naira)
and 0014201335 (Dollar) at* *Intercontinental Bank PLC*. Branch Sort Code is
06916014.  Kindly indicate purpose of contribution, i.e. Burial, Family or
Endowment Fund.

 NiRA would welcome written tributes/speeches from interested persons,
groups or organizations at the Commendation Service.

 The Nigerian internet community will certainly miss Engr. Ndukwe Kalu.  We
pray to Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and give the family the
fortitude to bear this rather irreparable loss.
