Dear Colleagues, please be advised that the "Call for Presentations and Tutorials"
period is open for the AfriNIC-10 Public Policy meeting to be held in Cairo, Egypt 16-22
May 2009.
 
Take an active role in this event by joining other presenters in delivering tools,
knowledge, know-how, and policy ideas related to Internet Protocol and Number Resources
Management to participants.  


If you are interested in presenting:

HOW TO SUBMIT

Please review all information included on this page before submitting your proposal. If
you would like to make a presentation or tutorial proposals, it must be received no
later than 01 April 2009 and must be sent to meeting[at]afrinic.net. 

Your proposal should contain the following information: 
     • Full Name
     • Organization
     • Full Mailing Address
     • Email Address 
     • Company’s Web Address
     • Affiliation 
     • Short biography 
     • Title of Presentation
     • A detailed abstract or outline describing the presentation 
     • Draft slides for the presentation (if ready/available) 
     • Length of Presentation (minutes/hours) 

Guidelines:

1.  Presentations may cover the following topics:
     • IPv6 deployment 
     • IP network Security 
     • Mobile & IP 
     • Anti-Spam 

2.  Presentations will be fifteen (15) to forty five (45) minutes in length, with
approximately 10-15 minutes for Q&A at the end of each presentation. Maximum time
allotted per presentation is 60 minutes.

3.  AfriNIC will provide the space, tea/lunch breaks and projector equipment. 

4.  Presenters will be responsible for any handouts.  Typically there are approximately
100-150 delegates. 

5.  All presentations will be delivered with the highest professionalism to maximize the
value obtained by the attendee. Any selling (perceived or overt) during the session is
deemed unprofessional and is not acceptable. 

6.  Selection decisions will be made by the Meeting Coordination team. 

7.  Selected presenters will be contacted by the Events Coordinator to coordinate
logistics and details. 

8.  Note that proposals are reviewed and accepted on an on-going basis and that
presentation slots may be filled prior to this date.

9.  Each presentation will be submitted in PowerPoint by the presenter(s) approximately
2 weeks prior to the event date. 

10. Tutorials are usually 2 to 4 hour workshops, while presentations may last between 10
and 30 minutes.

The audience at AfriNIC meetings is mainly composed of technical network operators and
engineers with a wide range of experience levels from beginners to seasoned professionals.
