Preparatory Meeting on the Internet Governance – Nigeria’s Position

[FINAL COMMUNIQUE] In preparation for the forthcoming Internet 
Governance Forum (IGF) holding in India from 3rd to 6th December 2008, 
the Federal Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration 
with the Presidential Steering Committee on WSIS organized a one-day 
National Workshop on Internet Governance on 27th November, 2008 at the 
National Press Centre, Radio house, Abuja with the theme “Internet 
Governance – Where is Nigeria ?”.

The aim of the Workshop was to harness the opinions of the various 
stakeholders in order for Nigeria to present a common position at the 
India Forum.

The National Workshop was in partnership with the Nigerian Broadcasting 
Commission, Nigerian Communications Commission, IHS Nig. Plc, Galaxy 
Backbone Plc and National Information Technology Development Agency.
