This one-day course provides foundational knowledge for those who need to understand the whole incident response lifecycle from incident detection through various escalation
levels until the implementation of mitigation measures and post-incident activities. The course will cover key preparations to have in place.
Participants will learn the importance of having and following pre-defined policies and procedures; understand the technical issues relating to commonly reported attack types, incident response best practices, workflow, classification, SLAs and team composition/roles along with internal and external incident communication.
At the end of the course participants will learn how to gather the information required to handle an incident; identify potential problems to avoid while taking part in incident management work.
The course incorporates practical exercises and cases, small group work and, in class discussions, small group work.
